The ring was found by a metal detectorist near Colehill Dorset on 6th April 2014. It was declared Treasure under the Treasure act of 1996 and recorded under Treasure number 2014-T499. It is included on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database as treasure number DOR-FCAFBE.
