An exceptional moss-agate and diamond set bracelet by Carl Fabergé,

<

comprised of eight oval moss agates mounted on gold and encircled by rose diamonds joined by platinum curb link chains, in its original silk and velvet lined fitted case hollywood box, the lid satin stamped in Cyrillic ‘Fabergé, St. Petersburg, Moscow, London’ beneath the Imperial warrant.

Fabergé was especially taken by the patterns which naturally occur within moss-agates.  He knew the stone as Orskaia Jasper and his workshop manager Franz Birbaum wrote of it:

‘Thickets of tress, cliffs, valleys … and the most varied and unexpected motifs unfold before one’s astonished eyes.’
