comprising of a series of fully articulated rectangular gold panels, decorated with a diamond set entrelac which is interwoven with a corresponding gold design chased into the surface of the bracelet, the vacant spaces within the pattern mounted with rubies, sapphires and diamonds running in horizontal rows, the outer borders decorated with engraved scrolls.

Samuel Arndt started work as a master goldsmith in 1845 and continued to work until 1890. Famed for his lavish creations in silver and gold, he occasionally created pieces for the firm Nicholls & Plincke. The ambition of his designs and the quality of his work single him out among goldsmiths working in Russia during the 19th century as a gifted and important craftsman, described as a forerunner of Carl Fabergé.
