An English, Tudor, yellow gold posy ring, engraved to the outside and reading to the interior in capital letters


The inscription a variant of ‘Veritas vos liberabit’ or ‘Veritas liberabit vos’ meaning ‘truth shall set you free’.

The ring was found by a metal detectorist in a field in Cambridgeshire on 4th July 2106. It was declared Treasure under the Treasure act of 1996 and recorded under Treasure number 2016 T552 . It is included on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database as treasure number CAM-3715C0 .
