A silver mounted cut glass carafe by Carl Fabergé,

Moscow workshop, pre 1896.

<

Its slim and curved cut glass body, with integrated handle, mounted with highly naturalistically modelled and textured silver water lily pads, curling around the top and neck of the carafe towards the hinged silver lid surmounted by a lily flower bud.

25.5 cm high

This imaginative work in the Japanese taste allows the pads to appear to float on the liquid within the carafe.
