A Rare Cameo Brooch by Alexis Falize

Paris, c.1850-60

<

the central oval cornelian cameo featuring the portrait bust of a Roman emperor in high relief, framed by radiating opaque white enamelled motifs within a green translucent enamelled border, the whole contained in a diamond set frame.

Signed with the first poinçon registered by Alexis Falize in 1841.
