Discovered by a metal detectorist on land in the district of Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire in January 1990. The ring is recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme as SF-32825A.
The term ‘pie dish’ is an Antiquarian description of a shaped bezel resembling a baking tin, from which the pie like stone rises.
