A Gold Archaeological Style Bracelet by Castellani

Rome, c.1870

comprising of pairs of yellow gold batons on the outer edge terminated with stylised lion head masks with protruding tongues, flanking reeded gold batons centred with discs and lion heads, each segment pivoted via a continuous rod which connect the three layers located beneath the masks.

Signed with intertwined Cs for Castellani

Length: 18cm
Width: 2.7cm

A identical bracelet was bequeathed by Alfredo Castellani to the Museo Nazionale Etrusco housed in the Villa Giulia in Rome.
