A Gold and Micromosaic Brooch by Castellani

comprising of a cross constructed of micromosaic squares bordered with twisted gold wirework, each square decorated with red glass tesserae around alternating red and green centres with opaque white borders, the cross positioned within a twisted gold circular border with clusters of three pierced teardrops, in the style of a gothic rose window.
