Multum in Parvo: A Collection of Engraved Gems
Entitled ‘Multum in Parvo’ (a Latin motto which translates as much in little), the exhibition displayed over one hundred intricate carvings in miniature, engraved into beautifully coloured and figured precious and semi-precious stones. Works of art by some of the most notable gem engravers of the 18th and 19th centuries were represented, as well as examples dating from the Renaissance and Classical Antiquity.
